Removal of mandibular tumor with preservation of the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN)

The IAN is a cranial nerve which provides the sensation to the lower lip and chin therefore the importance of keeping it intact. It travels within the mandibular bone, that is why, its dissection could be very difficult.

Luckily this patient had a benign tumor which did not invaded the nerve and we could preserve it.
