During his residency, Dr. Caceres was the Chief Resident and was granted the “Professor’s Cup” as the most outstanding resident of his class. Furthermore, he was recognized with the Most Outstanding Academic achievement Award by the professors of the University of Miami. Multiple times throughout his residency, Dr. Caceres was also involved in surgical cases showcased on Discovery Channel, The Today Show, and “The Doctors”.

EXPERIENCE TIMELINE
1989-1998
Dr. Johanny Caceres’ educational path started at the University of Havana, School of Dentistry from 1989 through 1994. His stellar career commenced as he graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in his class at the age of 23. He was selected for the academic talent program of the Cuban Health System among the best graduates of the country to do the residency in Maxillofacial Surgery.
He completed his residency in Maxillofacial Surgery at Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital between 1994 through 1998. Upon graduation he was awarded top honors and earned great respect from the elder surgeons as being one of the youngest to receive these awards. Dr. Caceres became a maxillofacial surgeon at the sole age of 27.
1998-2004
Dr. Caceres gained a vast amount of experience in wisdom teeth extractions, dental implants, facial cosmetic surgery, facial fractures repair, facial reconstruction and orthognathic surgery. He presented more than 30 lectures at international conferences that led him to winning multiple national and international awards.
2005-2010 – University of Miami
Dr. Caceres arrived in the United States in 2004. He was instantly accepted into the internship program of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital. Upon completion of his internship, in 2006, he began his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the same institution under world-renown Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Robert E. Marx and a prestigious facial surgery team. Dr. Caceres graduated in 2010 and was awarded the “Professor’s Cup” and “Outstanding Academic Achievement".
2010
In 2010 he decided to open his private practice in the heart of Southwest Miami-Dade. Dr. Caceres offers a wide array of different surgical procedures with special emphasis in wisdom teeth, intravenous sedation, dental implants, facial cosmetic surgery, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma and facial reconstruction using the latest technologies in growth factors and bone grafts.
